I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to spend two weeks in India. My journey had started in Hagarwad, which is a sacred, important, ancient Hindu town. People are bathing in the holy river Ganga (photo 1). I couldn't not to join the pilgrims from India and abroad and also I did bathe in the river, which made me feel clean and great from all perspective. That’s how, on my journey, the Indian sun has risen (photo 2).
Our journey was set to have a spiritual core around what we will certainly explore the beauties of the country and Indian Himalayas. We had a privilege to breath the spiritual air of the Rishikesh International Yoga Festival closing ceremony (photo 1). On our journey to the mountains I could sink into the meditation in the Vashishta Guha cave (photo 2,3) and moving forward to be at the origin of the Holy river Ganga at Devprayag Sandam (Photo 4.). I am not sure if the spirituality is coming from Ganga and the mountains or a lot of spiritual seekers are coming here but both results that it all radiates spirituality and peace. Om

First time I am seeing Himalayas in my life. The view on the amazing hills and mountains are breathtaking every time. By tracking on Chandra Shila (photo 1) we could see also the Asia highest positioned temple Tungnath at altitude 3680 m. Getting to Kedarkantha was a quite demanding climb managing in 8 km 1700 m altitude gain. The view on the top was paying off all the efforts simply amazing (photos 2-4). On those days I really appreciated a professional guide as well as my support app having a proper packing list as many items had been needed what normally I would forget.

Temples in India might be a separate tour where you can spend years and see every day a different one. Each of them has its own history and story and each of them hold a different architecture. I felt a sprit of all of them and also now after visiting them smell the unique sent of sense the atmosphere of them. I believe during last two weeks we saw really around 10 – 15 of them. On photos few examples. Ukhimath Omkareshwar temple (Photo n1) Mahasu Devta Temple ( photo n2) or Triyuginarayan Temple (God Shiva’s marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue - photo3)

Interaction with people gives you a real taste of the culture and spirit of the country. I love the colors of India. We’ve been spent most of the time in rural, mountains areas, however, also in the cities. The variety of culture and colors of clothing habits were so refreshing. Also, a not easy life of mountains was written in the faces of elders however in the eyes of children you might see the same brightness as all over the world everywhere. Mountain people were not talking to much but there was no occasion if you smiled at someone would not smile back and to say hello people just joined their hands in front of their heart or just put a hand on the heart was saying all about the intention. A lot of silent and honest love.

Remote Himalayan villages along trekking routes often remain isolated, where children have limited exposure to the outside world. Social workers and responsible trekkers can contribute through education, donations, and awareness programs. Empowering women and supporting local communities can bring meaningful and lasting change. Himalaya Shelter helps connect trekkers with these communities to encourage responsible and impactful travel.
