The Chopta & Tungnath trek, one of the most beautiful and accessible treks in the Uttarakhand region of India, begins with the beautiful meadows near Chopta, where an ideal balance of nature's beauty, spirituality and incredible mountain scenery combine to provide you with a unique experience. Those who take this trek may also want to consider continuing on to the Chandrashila summit (approximately 3690 metres), where you'll be rewarded with stunning, 360-degree views of some of the world's tallest peaks.

  • The trek includes walking through the forests of rhododendrons and oak, as well as the meadows of the Alps. 
  • You can visit the Tungnath Temple (located at an altitude of 3680 meters), which is known as the highest Shiva Temple in India and is part of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit.
  • If you decide to ascend to Chandrashila Peak, you'll be treated to magnificent sunrises over the Himalayas and breathtaking views. 
  • This trek is an easy to moderate difficulty level, making it suitable for beginners in moderate physical condition. 
  • The trek offers the opportunity to see incredible Himalayan landscapes, featuring views of Nanda Devi, Trisul, Chaukhamba, Kedar Dome, and Bandarpunch.
