Jalori Pass Trek opens all year round but the scenery is different yet beautiful in every season.
Jalori Pass is situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the outer range of the Himalayan Range. Jalori Pass is situated at an altitude of 10,282 feet. The Jalori Pass is a corridor between the Seraj Valley. It is a natural passage that connects Shoja and Jibhi to villages like Ani Tehsil and Khanag. Long before trekking became a thing, Jalori Pass was always a route. It was a famous trading route for the people of Kullu and Shimla region. Jalori pass was used to trade things such as salt, grains, and wool. This trek was very important for the barter between high-altitude villages and low-altitude villages.
You will witness Serolsar Lake on this trek. This lake is situated around 5 km from the Jalori Pass. Locals believe that a goddess resides in the lake that protects the region. You can visit the lake and offer prayers. In the late 90s, Jalori Pass emerged as a trek for tourists. Locals started picking the tourists to the trail which became a peaceful getaway.

You can visit Jalori Pass around the year. It is an easy to moderate trek and you can opt for any season for it. However, the scenery and weather conditions will be different in every season.
This is the best time to plan the Jalori Pass Trek. The weather will be cool and pleasant. In April, you will see rhodo and wildflowers. The meadows will be green and the Himalayan view will be very clear. It is the time to visit for beginners and families.
The trail conditions will be dry but it can be slightly warm. Sometimes, the trail might get dusty. The views will be greenery with blue skies. It is a very peak season for Himachal Pradesh so you might feel overcrowded.
This is not an ideal time to plan a Jalori Pass Trek. The whole trail will be muddy and slippery. It will be very foggy and wet. You might get leeches in the forest areas. Jalori Pass is an easily accessible trek and you can find buses and local taxes from various locations. There is no direct train to Jalori Pass, however, you can travel to a nearby railway station and then continue the journey by road.
The total distance between Delhi to Jalori Pass is about 500 km. It might take around 12-14 hours to reach Jalori Pass. You can take a direct overnight bus from Delhi via Chandigarh to Jibhi. Have a rest in Jibhi and visit the village. You can start your trek the next day from Jibhi.
Jibhi is just 100 km away from Manali. You can take a bus to Jibhi or Shoja early in the morning. Reach Jibhi in the afternoon and stay overnight. Start your trek early in the morning.
You can take a bus from Shimla to Jalori Pass via Narkanda. It will take around 6 hours. In winter, drive safely as you might get snow on the narrow road after Ani. If you don’t have experience in mountain roads then opt for public buses instead of self-driving.
Reach Jibhi a day ahead or every morning. Report at the Jalori base campsite around 8 am. Now you can relax for some time and check the surroundings. You will have breakfast at the campsite including tea, coffee, and snacks. The guide will tell you the details about the trek and will start ascending around 10 am. You will trek through dense forests with stunning mountain views. You can trek to Serolsar Lake or Raghupur Fort. Choose the destination and commence the trek. Descend after lunch and reach the base camp around 4 pm after a full day of adventure.
