Nunes Bakarna Chhaskhet Trek Overview

River “Nun” – a river fed by the monsoon is where the name of this trek is derived. Nunes Bakarna Chhaskhet Trek is thrilling and adventurous because of its steep climb. However, the level of difficulty is compensated by the breathtaking picturesque sceneries along the trail. The trek is close to Dehradun which is a hub for many treks in the Shivalik mountains.

A village called Jhariwala (800m) along the river Nun which is about 6 km from Dehradun Garhi Cantt is the starting point for this trek. Nunes Bakarna Chhaskhet Trek crosses through dense forests and steep climb covering an altitude of 1000 feet within a span of approximately 4 hours. This trek offers magnificent views of Dehradun Valley & Mussoorie Hills, on the way to the top till Village Chhaskhet. The sound of a flowing river along the dense woods makes it an exciting experience. One can sit by the river with their feet dipped into the Himalayan mountain water to wash out all the fatigue from the body.

This trek culminates at Chhaskhet, a village where one can enjoy a visual treat of magnificent views of Doon Valley. The village of Chhaskhet gives its visitors an opportunity to explore Garhwali culture, food, and lifestyle.
