Home of the Brahma Kamal Flower
This spot is also the Home of the Brahma Kamal Flower. It is really a rare and sacred Himalayan bloom. This flower grows at high altitudes and is often used in religious rituals. According to legend, the Brahma Kamal is a divine flower blessed by Lord Brahma himself. This makes it highly revered in Hindu culture. And, seeing this flower in full bloom is really a special experience for everyone.
The Gui Lake
Hidden within the trails of Dayara Bugyal lies the Gui Lake. It is also known as Gui Tal. This twin alpine lake is situated at an altitude of 2,964 meters. Moreover, it remains frozen during the winter months. The larger lake stretches about 20 meters, while the smaller one is approximately 15 meters long.
Mythological Connections with Pandavas
Dayara Bugyal isn’t just beautiful; it has a fascinating link to Hindu mythology as well. People believe that the Pandavas, who were the famous brothers from the epic Mahabharata, walked through these meadows on their way to heaven. One of the most interesting folk tales of this region is the Story of Jeetu Bagdwal. Jeetu was a shepherd who played his flute so beautifully that even fairies were enchanted by his music. However, his story has a tragic end, as he was taken away by the spirits and never seen again. Even today, locals share this legend and add a magical touch to the mysterious beauty of Dayara Bugyal.

If you want to see Dayara Bugyal from its highest point, Bakaria Top is the place to go. It offers panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks and is a must-visit for adventure lovers. When you are standing in Dayara Bugyal, surrounded by expansive meadows and majestic mountains, it really feels like you are on top of the world. The fresh air and breathtaking views create a sense of peace that’s even harder for me to describe in words.
Visible Peaks
At the top of the Dayara Bugyal trek, you will be treated to some incredible views of famous Himalayan peaks also. You can see wonderful mountains like Bandarpoonch, Srikanth, Jaonli, the Gangotri Range, and Draupadi Ka Danda. Each peak has its own unique shape and story, making the sight truly special. I really felt like I was standing in a natural gallery of stunning mountains and realized how beautiful the Himalayas are!
