Pari Tibba Ridge Trek – A Serene Ridge Walk Above Mussoorie
Pari Tibba Ridge is an unexplored trekking destination located near Mussoorie, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, including mountain ranges, valleys, rivers, lakes, and wildlife. It is a place to find real serenity through natural beauty. This trek attracts photographers and nature lovers who want to experience the amazing scenery as well as travel slowly and mindfully in the Himalayan foothills.
History of Pari Tibba Ridge
Pari Tibba has been visited by local villagers and their herders for centuries, but there are no historic or religious structures on it; however, local villagers use it often for getting to/from their homes/fields, and it was popularised by the local guides and trekkers in recent years as a lesser-known viewpoint because of its location in proximity to Mussoorie, its solitude and its untouched natural surroundings.
- The length of the trek (18.4 km) is considered long but very peaceful as it traverses over a ridgeline with a gradual ascent towards the summit.
- The contrast between the dense forests and breathtaking views from the ridgelines is spectacular.
- The incredible views that await you of both the Doon Valley and the hills around Mussoorie make it an unforgettable experience.
- As there are few people on the trail, the trails are generally very pristine and untouched.
- You will have the opportunity to take incredible photographs of both sunrises and sunsets on this trek due to the well-positioned viewpoint.
Pari Tibba Ridge, located on the outskirts of Mussoorie, connects to other forest areas and ridges that overlook Doon Valley. Unlike Mall Road or Lal Tibba, the Pari Tibba Ridge area is not too popular among tourists, as well as providing a true and pure way to experience walking through the Himalayas, full of quietness, sounds of birds, and large landscapes.

There are gentle ascents and ridge walking. This trek is suitable for beginners who are reasonably fit. Be sure to check weather conditions because parts of the ridge are exposed.
From March to June, this time of year is usually very pleasant, and during this time, the forests have flowers and are in full bloom.
From September to November, usually during this time, there are often blue skies and the temperatures are cold.
From December through February, the temperatures are colder but also relatively peaceful, and some parts of the area may have frost.
From July to August, the trail is very lush. Most likely, you will find that many of the trails are very slippery.
From Dehradun, drive up to Mussoorie Road and continue towards the local trailhead as shown by local guides.
From Delhi, take a train or overnight bus to Dehradun, and continue to Mussoorie via road.
From Rishikesh and Haridwar, take direct transport to Dehradun and continue on to Mussoorie via taxi or bus.
Trekking/sturdy walking shoes, a light jacket/fleece, a water bottle, energy snacks, a cap/sunglasses/sunscreen, a camera/smartphone, and a basic first aid kit.
The list of activities available during this trek includes ridge walking/mindful hiking, landscape/nature photography, bird watching, watching sunrise/sunset, and immersing yourself in the quietness of nature.
Carry only what you need to enjoy your hike; however, be ready for changing weather conditions in the mountains. Pack extra layers for cold/winter months and early/late in the day.

Day 3: Drive back to Dehradun after a leisurely morning.
