Benog Tibba Trek Overview

The Benog Tibba Trek is an off-the-beaten-path hike in the peaceful Benog Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located near Mussoorie. The top of Benog Tibba is about 2250 metres tall and has many attractions, including dense forests with trails, many types of birds, and expansive views of the Doon Valley and many Himalayan ranges around it. If you love nature or take pictures, this trek is perfect for beginners.

History of Benog Tibba Trek

During the British era, the Benog region was protected as part of Mussoorie's green buffer zone and has a long history of protecting forest preservation. The Buyerod region was known for its many bird species, as well as being a tranquil retreat for British forest officials and naturalists.

The area of Benog Tibba offers trekkers an opportunity to be away from the hustle and bustle of Mall Road and Lal Tibba and all of the tourist infrastructure that accompanies those viewpoints. This area allows you to have a true experience of trekking through a natural forest environment.

  • July to August - Wet Monsoons; there are leeches, and a slippery path.

How to Reach Benog Tibba Trek

From Dehradun, it's a 40 km drive from Dehradun to Mussoorie.
From Mussoorie, travel towards Cloud’s End or the Benog Sanctuary gate.
From Delhi, take a bus or train to Dehradun. Then, travel onwards to Mussoorie via road. From Rishikesh & Haridwar. Direct transport to Dehradun from both locations. Onward travel to Mussoorie will be via taxi or bus
