How do I get there?

Sankri village is located around 200 km away from Dehradun. You can take a train or bus from your location to Dehradun, and from there you can take a cab or bus to Sankri.

The route from Dehradun to Sankri is Dehradun Railway Station-Mussoorie-Nainbagh-Nauguon-Purola-Jarmola-Mori-Netwar-Sankri.

Direct bus from Dehradun to Sankri:

Once you reach the Dehradun Railway station, you can easily find a Government bus from Dehradun. You can find them at the Mussorie bus stand. It is located near the railway station, so you don’t have to worry about the bus timings. There are three buses on the Dehradun to Sankri route that leave at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30, respectively. If you miss them, then you can opt for cab services. It will take you approximately 8-10 hours to reach Sankri.

Cabs/Travellers:

You can take shared Jeeps from Dehradun to Sankri, but not all of them take you directly to the location, and you may have to change cabs in between. They have a time restriction, and hence the best time to travel via Jeep is between 5 and 8.

PLACES TO VISIT

Juda ka Talab:

This talab is located at an altitude of 2700 meters above sea level. The name comes from an old tale that when Lord Shiva opened his locks, some water fell from his hair and formed this lake. Hence, it is known as Juda Ka Talab. It is a famous spot for camping and trekking, and the best time to visit this place is between October and June.
