Clothing And Backpack
Look for a good backpack (50L) with a rain cover. Your backpack should provide you with good back support. Now start packing your clothes. Pack 5 quick-dry pants and 3 pairs of trekking pants. You should pack a fleece jacket as the mornings and evenings can be cold. Pack a good waterproof wind cheater jacket. If you are trekking in winters then pack a good quality down jacket. Get a woolen cap and muffler. Pack a pair of gloves. You should also pack a pair of thermals (upper and lower) for night.
Footwear
You need good quality trekking shoes. Your trekking shoes should be familiar to your feet. Do not pack a new pair of shoes while trekking. If you are buying a new pair then wear it for at least 10 days before your trek. Make the shoes familiar to your feet. Now pack 5 pairs of trekking socks and 2 pairs of woolen socks. You should also pack a pair of sandals for the campsites.
Personal Care
Get a zipper back and pack all the toiletries. Now pack a pair of sunglasses and sunscreen lotion to prevent sunburn. Get a moisturizer to prevent skin dryness. Pack a toilet paper roll and hand sanitizer. You should make a small first-aid kit with a few basic medicines. If you are carrying a camera then extra batteries.
Early morning is the best time to start your trek. Have an early morning breakfast and start your trek on time. The views are better and the temperature also remains manageable. Reach the location by the afternoon so you can spend some more time there.
You should pack your bags very smartly. Your bag should provide good back support as you have to carry the bag on your own. Do not pack any extra items that make your bag heavy. If you are trekking with your friends or family then share your items. It will reduce the load.
The trekking company always carries the basic medicines for emergencies. But not everyone faces the same medical conditions. You can make a small first-aid kit according to your health status. It can be very helpful in remote locations.
Weather can change anytime in high-altitude locations. You should always prepare yourself for rains and chilly winds. If you are trekking in late autumn or winter then keep snowfall in your mind. Always carry enough clothes to keep yourself warm and dry.
Day 1: Pickup from Airport and Chek-in at Haridwar
Picked up from the airport and checked in at Haridwar. Visited Mansa Devi Temple, and Chandi Devi Temple, and in the evening, witnessed the vibrant Holi Ganga river Aarti.
Day 2: Drive to Kund (160 km) Overnight Stay in Kund Guest House
After breakfast, drive 160 km to Kund for an overnight stay at Kund Guest House. En route, witness the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers at Devprayag, and the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers at Rudraprayag. In the evening, visit the Omkarashwar Temple in Okhimath, and conclude the day with a darshan of Kedarnath Baba after Diwali.
Day 3: After Breakfast Drive to Chopta and Trek to Tungnath and chandershila
Tungnath stands as one of the world’s highest Shiva temples, part of the Panch Kedar temples in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. Nestled in the Tungnath mountains, it shapes the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. Chandrashila, translating to “Moon Rock,” crowns the Tungnath temple at 3,690 meters above sea level. The summit offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, featuring Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch, and Chaukhamba peaks. Trek 3.5 km to this enchanting site and enjoy an overnight stay at the Chopta Campsite.
Day 4: Drive to Sari Village( 15 km) and Trek to Deorital and come back to sari village
Embark on a drive to Sari Village (15 km) and trek to the captivating Deorital. After the exploration, return to Sari Village for an overnight stay at the guest house. Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty and tranquility of the region.
Day 5: Drive to the village Kanakchauri for Kartik Swami Temple back to Devprayaga Guest House
After breakfast, drive to Kanakchauri village for Kartik Swami Temple, then return to Devprayaga Guest House. The temple, perched atop a mountain against a snow-covered Himalayan backdrop, offers a dreamlike setting. A 3-km trek and an 80-step climb lead to the temple adorned with thousands of bells. It is believed that offering a bell on Kartik Purnima fulfills wishes. The evening prayers, with tolling bells and hymns, create an enchanting ambiance.
Day 6: Driver to Rishikesh via a Vashishta Gufa
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh via Vashishta Gufa. According to Hindu mythology, Sage Vashishta contemplated suicide in the Ganges after the loss of his children, but Goddess Ganga refused. Entranced by the location, his wife Arundhati chose to stay, and Sage Vashishta meditated in a cave here. Enjoy an overnight stay at a Rishikesh guest house.
Day 7: Rafting Adventure and Immersing in the Lively Vibe of Rishikesh
Indulge in exhilarating white-water rafting after breakfast. Explore the Yoga Capital, Rishikesh, and visit landmarks like Beatles Ashram, Ramjhula, and Laxman Jhula. Wrap up your day by witnessing the enchanting Ganga Aarti in the evening.
Day 8: Check-out from Hotel and Drop at Airport/Railway Station.
