The altitude of the temple is 3133 m. It is an average altitude for any Himalayan region. But elderly people can still get AMS. They may face issues like headache or nausea.
Badrinath temple is connected via road. You don’t need to trek to reach the temple. However, the location of Badirnath is very remote. You have to spend hours on the road. The road journey in the hilly region is difficult.
Badrinath temple opens in May. But the temperature still remains very low. Devotees may witness snowfall in the early and late season. Rain is very common in that region. You can see temperature drop any time of the year.
The Badrinath temple is well-connected via road. But the nearby locations like Satopath Lake or Vasundhara Falls are not connected to roads. You have to trek hours to reach these locations. If you want to explore the nearby locations then you may have to walk for hours.

You should always carry comfortable shoes on a trip. If you are trekking to Gorson Bugyal then pack a pair of trekking shoes. Now get a few good quality trekking socks and two pairs of woolen socks for night. If you have some space on the bag then pack a pair of sandals.
You can start with packing your toothbrush and toothpaste. Now pack the skincare like facewash, moisturiser and lotion. Pack a good SFP50+ sunscreen. Now get toilet paper and napkins. You can also carry a few basic medicines.
The altitude of the temple is not very high. It is a common altitude for any Himalayan location. People get AMS usually over 4000 m. But if you are near to Himalayan region then you should acclimatize. You should take a good rest at night as it will help to prevent any AMS symptoms.
Many people drink less water on their trips. More water means more rounds to the washroom. But water is very necessary in your trek. Sip your water frequently on the trek and keep yourself hydrated.

Day 3: Auli to Gorson Bugyal Trek and back

Day 4: Drive to Badrinath, visit the temple, and explore Mana village
Following breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Badrinath, covering a distance of 50 km. Explore the renowned Badrinath Temple and delve into the charm of Mana, the initial village preceding the Mana Pass. Located 26 kilometers from the India-Tibet border, Mana offers a unique blend of cultural richness. Conclude your day by returning to the Auli Guest House for a delightful dinner.
Day 5: Drive to Rishikesh overnight Stay in Rishikesh
Post breakfast, embark on a journey to Rishikesh, where you’ll be treated to an overnight stay at a comfortable guest house.
Day 6: Rafting Adventure and Immersing in the Lively Vibe of Rishikesh
After breakfast, experience thrilling white-water rafting. Later, explore Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital, including Beatles Ashram, Ramjhula, and Laxman Jhula. Conclude your day with the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti in the evening.
Day 7: Drop at Airport/Railway Station.
