One of the most popular and exciting places for trekking is in Jammu & Kashmir. Which is also known as heaven on earth; hence, it clearly means that it’s going to be beautiful and mesmerizing. One of the top treks of Kashmir is the Brammah Valley Trek, which is deep into Kishtwar National Park, a perfect mixture of beautiful view and greenery.
In popular treks like the Brammah Valley trek, you can clearly see mountains of 4000 meters which makes the trek more picture-perfect. On your way toward the Brammah Valley trek, you come across dense forests, wetlands, and small waterfalls. Hence, it helps you to nourish the nature closely.
Usually, you camp near Kedar Maidan, and from the left, you can see Eiger and Tarparan summits. Meanwhile, on the right you find Brammah I (second highest peak in Jammu), and besides that, you find a peak unexpectedly named “Mt. Brammah Wife.”
While trekking along the woods, you encounter a variety of flora and fauna moreover, you get to know about the culture and architectural immersion. The Nath River is your constant companion while trekking Brammah Valley trek and nonetheless, the trek offers you stunning views and unforgettable memories which can lead to a lifetime experience for you. The topmost trek like Brammah Valley Trek is rated as moderate which means it is not too difficult. The highest Altitude of the trek is 3,535 m with climbing of 11,600 ft. It’s a 7-day trek hence you can have a big break from your schedule. While trekking you can find rivers which can be a challenging part for some people but if you have a sense of control and you are quick while moving you can complete the challenging part smoothly. You just have to be confident.

In case there is rain you have to be careful because you can face slipperiness as there can be loose mud. Sometimes in Brammah Valley Trek, you can come across small paths without bridges so while encountering something like that you have to be confident and firmly put your feet and be aware.
As the trekking is accessible for a short amount of time in the whole year you have to be careful and cautious. The availability of the trek is in May, the month of June, and directly than in September.
In May and June, the sky is much clearer and the valley is filled with snow with beautiful greenery. Hence the Trek is more beautiful and easier.
September is the season of autumn which is known for its beauty. It makes the valley more enhancing the beautiful weather. Moreover, the Brammah Valley turns from green to golden brown.
Brammah Valley Trek, which is located in Jammu & Kashmir, is one of the most beautiful treks in India. So, to successfully start and complete the trek you have to prepare your travel plan accordingly.
All the information below is given step by step which will guide youPlanning to travel via flight/train
Step 1: you have to reach Jammu one day before your trek and stay over there. So, you can relax and start your next day fresh.
Step 2: your transport will be ready for you to pick you up from Jammu by Himalayan Shelter. Your pickup transport is going left to the location by the time given to you already. Planning your return via flight/train.
On the 7th day, you will be returning to Jammu by evening. After reaching the location, you can book your flight/train. If you want, you can prepare and arrange your journey according to it and decide whether you have to leave to stay for a few more days.
Day 1: Drive from Jammu to Sounder Village via Kishtwar
The day starts with traveling to Sounder Village with a cinematic view. While driving through the national highway to Kishtwar. Now starting from Kishtwar the drive can be a little rough due to roads but alongside you will find breathtaking views and peaceful surroundings.
Before arriving, sounder there will be the Chenab River alongside. While traveling a few kilometers just before Sounder the Chenab River splits into 2 other rivers known as Chandrabhaga and Marwah rivers. Then moving further sounder village road follows the Marwah River. Which then again surrounds us with a naturally perfect environment.
Reaching the base camp of the brammah trek which is a Sounder village you can get more information from the locals about their culture and lifestyle of the villagers. Hence, you can get more involved with the locals.
Day 2: Sounder village to Gogut campsite
The starting point of the trek is Sounder Village which is located on the bank of Kimber River. the initial of the river is surrounded by farmland which has a gorgeous viewpoint. After trekking 2km ahead you will come across Suid village then you have to cross the wooden bridge. Continuing your trek from one side of Nath River to another side. Going ahead for a few meters you will find a rock point called Druna Giri and then moving further you are going to discover a place called Bhuman Chor. This place is certainly known or famous as Bheem Used to visit the place and take a bath.
There is another wooden bridge after walking for half a kilometer. Now you are going to enter the wooden section. After trekking further kilometers, you enter the territory of Honzad village. After discovering the place, you will find a campground.
Now you are going to enter the forest with mixed pine along with chir pine trees and abies pindrow with maple trees. While walking through the trees you are going to feel fresh and heartwarming.
After trekking for around 1.5 kilometers, you will enter the last village of the Brammah trek known as Nath Village. In this village, you will meet people with different religions.
You have to continue your trek through the forest until 4 kilometers to reach the Gogut campsite. Alongside, you will be discovering every bit of the forest which will make the journey more memorable.
You will reach Gogut which is the first campsite of the trek where you will find an extremely beautiful waterfall. However, you will find the best view which will capture your eye aside from small temples.
Day 3: Gogut to Kaikut campsite
Another beautiful day of trekking, today we are going to enter a more dense and quiet forest that is dominated by pine trees. We are going to move ahead from Gogut campsite for another 700 meters. Be careful with the forest ahead because you can deal with landslide zones. After traveling across the Nath River will be an end stretch called Bhujal Bhath.
After traveling for half a kilometer, you will find Chugnu. Now traveling for 100 kilometers from Chugnu the surrounding is going to be covered with pine forest. Then ahead you are going to get the first look at the Eiger and Tarparan peaks.
Moving forward you are going to discover another opening called Kulsar. A kilometer after you will get an open view of the valley from the point called Waathaval. While traveling for more than 500 meters you will find another meadow called Hawal.
On the path 400 meters ahead, you will find a Shiva temple along with a river. For another half kilometer there is another river crossing so, be careful. To get to the second campsite called Kaikut you have to travel for more than a half kilometer.
Day 4: Kaikut campsite to Kiddar Maidan
Here is the summit day, this brammah valley trek is one of the few treks where you get to camp next to the summit. You are going to come across two paths towards Hudh Mata temple. The left trail is through stairs and the right one will take you to the forest. Huda Mata temple has a lot of popularity amongst villagers as it is known to have supernatural powers.
Moving forward towards the left you will find a rock cave where Yatris used to stay. Moving ahead you will find a stream(nala) which is risky to travel in monsoon. As you continue your trek you are soon gonna be near brammah I which is the most magnificent feeling.
3 kilometers ahead you will find a rain shelter and the Trisangiya temple. There is a wooden bridge 1 kilometer ahead there is a wooden bridge to cross the river.
Furthermore, 100 kilometers ahead there is this beautiful silver birch forest 200 meters long. After trekking for 100 kilometers more you will find Kiddar Maidan at the right of the kidder there is Brammah Ridge. (highest peak point of the trek). 500 meters ahead there is a vantage point from where you can see brammah I and brammah wife closely.
For the camp, you have to come back to the Kiddar Maidan while staying there for a few days. This campsite is surrounded by snow mountains which have everything with high rising mountains. The best part is when the sun sets you are going to find out the glow on the peaks of the mountains.
Day 5: Trek from Kiddar Maidan to Hawal campsite
now while taking back the same route from Kiddar Maidan you are going to camp at Hawal campsite which is in the river bed of day 3.
This campsite includes high-rising mountains on both sides. Which makes it even more attractive. This will give you more power to wake up and trek ahead for a more peaceful and magnifying view.
Day 6: Trek from Hawal to Sounder village
It’s a 7-hour trekking long day, starting from Hawal and continuing trek back to Sounder. Here, this is the last day of the trek so take as much as beautiful memories as you can. It is surrounded by pine forests, stream crossing through villages, and the calm and quiet environment of the village.
Day 7: Drive from Sounder to Jammu via Kishtwar
Now returning to Jammu the drive will take 11 hours during the drive you can rest and get yourself recharged for more journeys of trekking ahead.
