Ever thought why someone would name a company Himalaya Shelter – The Best Trekking Company in Uttarakhand? If you think about the name for a second, you get to see a valley unfolding in front of you. A valley that contains alpine rivers, mountain ranges, vibrant meadows, passes, and much more. And that’s how the Himalayas make home for you! The Himalayas is literally a shelter for everyone who comes to enjoy it. And that was the same idea Bachan Rana, the founder of Himalayan Shelter, had in mind back in 2013. Who is Himalayan Shelter? What do they do? How did they come this far? Having multiple questions in mind, let’s just take you on a trek to reach a summit where we will tell you a story of a group of Himalayan lovers! Take your backpacks!
About Himalayan Shelter With over a decade of experience, Himalayan Shelter mastered the art of creating personalized trekking adventures that will steal your heart. Let’s walk you through what makes Himalayan Shelter the best trekking company in Uttarakhand! Back in 2013, Himalayan Shelter was born out of a passion for the mountains. Led by our visionary owner and CEO, Mr. Bachan Rana, we have grown into a trusted name in the trekking community. And what made that possible?
A simple dream, a dream that didn’t let us sleep: to help you explore the beauty of the Himalayas. And that’s when Himalayan Shelter changed to Himalayan Lovers.
Trekking with a small, tight-knit group—sharing stories, building connections, and enjoying an experience that’s truly personal. We understand the importance of small group trekking. That’s exactly what we offer. Our fixed departure treks accommodate 6 to 12 people, striking the perfect balance between group bonding and individual attention. And for customized treks? For customized treks, we will tailor the experience to your tribe’s size and preferences.
Born in the remote village of Osla in Uttarkashi District, Mr. Rana didn’t let the lack of electricity or roads dim his dreams. With grit and determination, he mastered mountaineering, water sports, and first aid. From NOLS-India certifications to life-saving CPR skills, his resume is as rugged as the peaks he’s conquered. After 13 years of leading treks and water adventures, he envisioned a trekking company that prioritized quality over quantity, and thus, Himalayan Shelter was born. Today, his mantra of ‘Work is Worship’ guides everything we do—from connecting trekkers with the soul of the mountains to empowering local communities.
What We Provide in Treks With Himalayan Shelter, you get more than just a trek. You get an experience designed with care, comfort, and convenience:
This is a genuine question that might come to your mind. There are hundreds of trekking companies, then what makes the Himalayan Shelter the best trekking company in Uttarakhand? Our love for mountains and our quality of service. We are not just another trekking company. Here is why we are different:
Limiting the group size to 6–12 people enables Himalayan Shelter to attend to each person’s needs on an individual basis, ensuring that everyone has a full and enjoyable trek. The organization, which at first concentrated on running treks from the Sankri region, quickly spread its wings and took off throughout Uttarakhand because of its dedication to giving the trekkers the best services possible. This was only the start. Himalayan Shelter quickly established itself in the northeastern Indian states, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh by continuously offering notable services. In addition to many other treks, Himalayan Shelter now offers personalized trekking programs for high mountain pass, glacier, winter, summer, monsoon, and cultural exploration treks.
11 Years, 25000 Trekkers, 25+ Destinations – That’s what we are!
Each member of Team Himalayan Shelter possesses special traits that help the organization flourish. Our certified trek leaders have received training from reputable institutions and are equipped to handle a variety of situations. From young hikers to elderly hikers and nature enthusiasts, we have hosted trekkers of all ages. Our polite employees are trained to attend to the needs of each and every client. By effectively leading educational treks for schoolchildren and customized treks for corporate groups in Uttarakhand and Kashmir, Himalaya Shelter has had the honor of collaborating with reputable educational institutions and business organizations. We are able to create personalized trekking programs for each person based on their unique needs.
Trekking isn’t just about reaching the summit; it’s about the laughs shared, the challenges conquered, and the moments that take your breath away (sometimes literally—we are at altitude, after all!). Respect the mountains, travel sustainably, and keep your heart open to the magic of the journey. “When the mountains are in your blood, there is no escape,” goes a proverb. We are proud to say that our trekkers have a deep connection to the mountain and are eager to return for more amazing Himalayan experiences.
And that’s exactly what makes us “A group of Himalayan Lovers.”
