Confused between two amazing treks: Har Ki Dun or Kedarkantha?

While both, Har ki Dun and Kedarkantha Trek are in Uttarakhand, start from the same point and have quite a few things in common. When choosing between the two, one comes across the differences in the views, terrain, weather, and the time suitable to visit.

Har Ki Dun is a summer and autumn trek, most pleasant from April to June and September to November, while the Kedarkantha is a winter trek, best visited between December to March.

Easy-Level Trek- Har Ki Dun, PC- Himanshu Pandey

Suitable for beginners, Har ki Dun has not-so-steep slopes, while the Kedarkantha slopes are steeper and both the ascent and descent are moderately difficult.

Har Ki Dun enjoys pleasant weather during the summer with temperatures up to 21 degrees and the lowest to -11 degrees in winters, while the Kedarkantha’s highest and lowest temperatures are 20 degrees in summer and -7 degrees in winter.

•     Difficulty:

Har Ki Dun trek is most suitable for beginners and is comparatively an easy trek. Kedarkantha on the other hand, is moderately difficult. It can be done by beginners too, provided that they prepare themselves physically.

The Har Ki Dun trek package ranges from Rs.10,000 to Rs.14,000. The packages of Kedarkantha range from Rs.8000 to Rs.10,000.
