Miyar Valley Trek is situated in the Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh. Miyar Valley is a remote valley located at the western end of Lahaul and Spiti district. the valley extends approximately 74 km from Udaipur to Kang La. Miyar Valley is popular for its wildlife like snow leopards, and black bears. the starting point of this trek is Khanjer which is the last village of this trek which you can reach via vehicle. the main highlight of this trek are vast beautiful meadows tall snow-capped peaks boulders trail and a river alongside the trail Miyar River from the Miyar glacier and the origin point of this river is Kang La Jot the valley is home to 13 small villages and the river is a main source of water  of these villagers for agriculture and daily life uses The local villagers mainly grow iceberg lettuce,  apples,s eed potatoes, sea buckthorns, cauliflowers, barley, asafoetida, and medicinal plants such as Kuth, mannu.

Your Miyar Valley trek starts from Khanjar, which has an altitude of 3500 m. The height of the valley increases very gradually. Most of the valley has less than 4000 m elevation. The risk of getting AMS is low. But the trekkers should walk slowly and keep themselves hydrated.

The Miyar Valley Trek is about 60 km long. The trek is usually 6-9 days long. You will walk for about 10 km daily. The average walking hours are around 6-7. It is manageable as the trail is easy.

The weather can change at any time during the trek. This region receives less rain, but it can happen anytime. You can get rain in the lower sections and snowfall in the higher sections. The winds blowing from the Himalayas are very chilly.

​How To Reach The Miyar Valley Trek?

Your Miyar Valley Trek starts from Shukto or Khanjar. The nearest town to these villages is Manali.

Delhi to Manali: Manali has good connectivity from Delhi. You can find lots of government and private buses to Manali. Take an overnight bus and reach Manali by the morning. The distance is around 500 km and will take about 10 hours.

Manali to Shukto / Khanjar: There is no direct bus to Shukto. You can take a bus to Keylong and then take a shared taxi to Shukto. The distance is about 200 km and will take about 9 hours.
