The Chulu Far East Trek Peak is one of the classic trekking peaks at approximately 6,000 meters within the Annapurna region of Nepal and is the perfect first step into high-altitude mountaineering for the avid trekker.
Chulu Far East towers over the Manang Valley, offering incredible trekking, glacial travel, and a non-technical summiting experience set within the majestic Annapurna Range and Dhaulagiri Range.
In order to get to Chulu Far East Peak t, you need to reroute along the famous Annapurna Circuit and pass through many traditional villages, lush alpine meadows, and stunning high Himalayan landscapes. As you trek up from Manang and begin to travel towards Chulu Far East Base Camp, you will enter increasingly remote and rugged alpine environments.
The final climb to reach the summit will likely involve trekking on snow slopes/glaciers and may require crampons, an ice axe, and basic rope skills. There are no sections of the ascent that are overly steep or highly technical.
The summit of Chulu Far East Peak (6,059 m) offers climbers extensive views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and the Chulu range, making it one of the best viewing points in the Annapurna area. Although the climb is challenging because of the elevation and temperature, it has no technical problems and can be done by fit trekkers with prior experience hiking in high elevations.
The best climbing seasons for Chulu Far East Peak are spring (April - May) and autumn (September - October), when the weather is generally stable, the visibility is good, and the snow is in good condition.
