Short Itinerary

The journey from Guwahati to Bomdila takes you on a captivating trip from the bustling city to the serene town nestled in the Himalayan foothills. Starting in Guwahati, a vibrant city along the Brahmaputra River, you’ll traverse well-maintained roads that gradually ascend through lush green landscapes. As you leave the urban hustle behind, the scenery transforms into a tranquil vista of rolling hills and charming villages. Finally, you’ll arrive in Bomdila, known for its natural beauty and monasteries, providing a peaceful contrast to the lively city of Guwahati.

Following a hearty breakfast in the morning, we will commence our journey towards the picturesque Chander village, nestled at an elevation of 2571 meters. As we arrive at this charming destination, we will swiftly set up our camp, ready to embrace the serene surroundings.
The afternoon presents an excellent opportunity for acclimatization as we venture out on a leisurely trek around the village. While on this trek, you can soak in the local culture, interact with the friendly villagers, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region. This acclimatization trek will not only help you adapt to the altitude but also offer a glimpse into the daily life of the people in this tranquil setting.
As the day winds down, we return to our campsite in Chander village, where you can savour the tranquillity of the Himalayan foothills. An overnight stay in the comfort of our camp awaits, promising a peaceful night amidst the serene ambience of the mountains.

Today’s adventure is a demanding one, involving a challenging trek covering approximately 13 kilometres over five hours. We’ll traverse through dense coniferous forests and face two steep climbs along a ridge near Chang La Pass, which stands at an elevation of 3650 meters. The payoff for your efforts includes stunning views of the Sela range, surrounding valleys, and the Himalayan watershed.
Once we arrive at our destination, we’ll set up camp for an overnight stay, allowing you to rest and rejuvenate amidst the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

Today’s trek involves a gradual climb through a variety of landscapes. We’ll start by ascending through forests with coniferous trees, juniper, and rhododendrons, eventually reaching the challenging Posing La pass at 3950 meters.
After crossing the pass, we’ll continue trekking for about 4 hours. First, we’ll descend to cross a glacial stream and then ascend again to reach the alpine pasture at Poto, which is at 4200 meters.
In total, you’ll cover a distance of 14 kilometres in 4-5 hours. Once we arrive at Poto, we’ll set up camp for an overnight stay, allowing you to rest and recharge in the stunning Himalayan surroundings.

Today’s trek involves a steady uphill climb lasting about 3 hours, taking you beyond the tree line to the impressive Tse la pass at 4550 meters. Along the way, you’ll come across a small Alpine lake and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Sela ridge, river valleys, and prominent Himalayan peaks like Gorichen and Kangdo.
If you’re trekking in October, the descent for about 2 hours will treat you to stunning fall foliage, adding vibrant colours to the landscape. The total distance covered is 8 kilometres in 4-5 hours. Finally, you’ll arrive at Lahap, located at an elevation of 3712 meters, where we’ll set up camp for a peaceful overnight stay amidst the Himalayan beauty.

After breakfast, we’ll start a 12-kilometer trek, which will take approximately 4-5 hours to reach Mago at an elevation of 3680 meters. Along the way, we’ll cross the Jera La pass at 4031 meters, offering stunning panoramic views. We’ll set up camp at Mago for an overnight stay, providing you with a peaceful and scenic resting spot in the Himalayas.

Today’s trek covers a distance of 14 kilometres and will take approximately 4-5 hours to reach New Maling at an altitude of 2000 meters. After the trek, we’ll set up camp for the overnight stay, offering you a peaceful resting place to enjoy the serene surroundings.

On the last day of the trek, we’ll cover a distance of 8 kilometres in 2 to 3 hours to reach Jang at 1950 meters. From there, we’ll drive down to Twang at 2857 meters. Upon arrival in Twang, we’ll check in at a hotel for an overnight stay, concluding our trekking adventure through the Himalayan region.

Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Tawang. Begin by exploring the historic Tawang Monastery, which has a history spanning 350 years, and have the opportunity for an audience with Rimpoche. In the afternoon, visit the ancient Urgelling Monastery dating back to 1489, followed by a visit to the Seru Monpa village and a craft centre. Spend the night at your hotel. Later, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast in the morning, we’ll begin our journey by driving a distance of 190 kilometres to reach Bomdila. Once we arrive in Bomdila, we will proceed to check-in at our designated hotel, where we will spend the night. This marks the end of our day’s travel and provides a comfortable place for an overnight stay.

The journey from Bomdila to Guwahati is a scenic adventure through the northeastern region of India. Starting from the peaceful Bomdila, we travel on winding mountain roads with stunning views of the Himalayas. We stop in Tezpur, a historic town by the Brahmaputra River, where we explore ancient sites and enjoy the river’s beauty. Continuing through Assam’s green landscapes, we arrive in Guwahati, a lively city known for its temples, markets, and delicious cuisine. This journey is a memorable exploration of the northeastern beauty and culture.
