PHOOL CHATTI WATERFALL – A DAY TREK

Water has always been the most integral part of earthen landscape. When the water falls from the mountain into the valley , the sight to stand under the cold spray gazing at this view is a treat for ones eyes. One such waterfall is  Phool Chatti waterfall , located near Rishikesh, the land of God’s by the bank of beautiful and Holy river Ganga. Rishikesh is flanked with numerous temples and Phool Chatti waterfall can be accessed by trekking from the Garuda Temple situated here. The trek is about 4.5 kms from Garuda Temple and 4 kms from the famous Laxman Jhula , which is also a major tourist destination in Rishikesh.

Neelkanth Temple and Garud Chatti waterfall are two places of interest in this area. The trek is easy and can be covered in a day. Camping around the waterfall site is an experience to have. Surrounded by lush greenery, serene and tranquil nature and sound of falling water is a divine spiritual experience.

The best time to visit this waterfall is post Monsoon and during Summer seasons where the magnificence of the waterfall and its surroundings shine to its fullest.

Itinerary

We start early morning from Dehradun via road towards Rishikesh via the Dehradun-Rishikesh Highway. It’s a short drive. We stop at Rishikesh to enjoy breakfast and start our trek towards the waterfall. The trek distance is about 4 kms from Laxman Jhula . We return the same day . For those heading back to Dehradun can be dropped at the Station. For travellers in Rishikesh , staying at Rishikesh to explore the beautiful city is recommended.
