PACK YOUR BACKPACK is a form of low-cost, independent travel, which often includes staying in inexpensive lodgings and carrying your life essentials in a backpack for an immersive outdoor experience that involves Hiking, Backcountry, Camping and even staying in cheap accommodation
A backpack enables you to easily carry all of your gear, water, Food, additional clothing, and other necessities while allowing you to move freely and easily through the wilderness.
Backpacking plays a very special role during the trek, If your backpack is not packed properly then you may have to face a lot of problems like Back pain, and shoulder pain throughout the trek Optimising weight distribution to help you maintain your center of gravity means. Loading your pack in such a way that the weight takes the least toll on your body
For Day hike – 20 to 40L.
For weekenders – ( 1-3 nights) 40 to 50L.
For Multi-Day treks – ( 3-6nights ) 50 to 75L.
For Long treks-( 6+nights ) 75 to 110L.
After this, Gather and lay everything on the floor that you require for the trek then make a checklist.
Tick things off, as and when you put them in your bags so that you don’t miss out on anything.
Then pack your backpack in three parts.
Bottom, Middle, and Top
Make sure that before packing your bag, you cover the inside of your bag with polythene so that all your belongings remain dry during rains.
The bottom section of your Backpack is reserved for things that you won’t need until you get to camp as always put your lightest stuff at the bottom Like sleeping bags and nighttime clothes. Lay these things at the bottom of your backpack
In the middle section, you can put your gear ( if required for your trek or expedition) or clothes like spare Trek pants, Spare Tshirts, warmer, Down jacket, socks, and undergarments ( you can keep all these clothes in a separate plastic bag ).
You can keep an extra plastic bag for used socks and undergarments also.
The middle-top of your backpack is a great spot for lightweight items that you don’t need quick access to 24/7 like extra clothing, toilet kit, lightweight slippers to wear around camp beside your trekking shoes.
On the top, you should put your warm stuff like hand gloves, Neck warmer, woolen cap, and lightweight jacket for quick access
Now for frequently used items you can use your front pocket, accessories compartment, and site pocket respectively, for the head torch, sunglasses, and poncho you can use the top pocket, for a medical kit and face towel you can use the accessories compartment, for the site pocket you can keep tiffin there, and there are pouches for water bottles on both sides of your bag so you can keep water bottle there.
